An even more powerful hybrid engine

The Tundra i-Force engine has changed for 2022: a new 3.5 L V6 takes place under the hood.  Moreover, it can be coupled with a 288 V nickel metal hybrid battery for a remarkable hybrid motorisation.

Both of the Toyota hybrid engines add up to an impressive 437 horsepower at 5,200 revolutions per minute and 583 lb-ft. maximum torque at 2,400 revolutions per minute.  Not only is it more powerful than its fuel version, it is also more powerful than its rival, the Ford F-150 PowerBoost!  Toyota once again shows its true colors as it brings power to the table, leaving its American competitors in the dust.

Even if we don’t yet know everything there is to know about the hybrid model (whose arrival is due for the Spring), the manufacturer has announced, for the Toyota truck, a 12,000 lb maximum towing capacity as well as a payload of 1,940 lb.  The new engine also offers substantial fuel economy.  Stay tuned!   

Aboard the Tundra, the driving experience is smooth and fluid thanks to the new 10- speed automatic transmission as well as the new multi-link rear suspension (and optional air suspension). 

The TRD Pro is exclusively hybrid and stands out thanks to –amongst other things- a raised suspension and impressive 18- inch rims. 

Exciting changes for the Toyota truck

The arrival of a hybrid engine is but one of the novelties this years, for the Toyota Tundra has been revamped in depth.  Sturdier and more robust, the grille has been changed, LED lights now boast a unique shape, and it has an overall even more imposing build.  If you like to stand out, you’re definitely in the right place!

The interior has also gone through a makeover, and now offers much more advanced technologies.  A digital dashboard with a 12.3- inch screen is offered as an option.  When it comes to the infotainment system, it can be as big as 14- inches and now has a wireless CarPlay^md and Android Auto^md connection.

The new generation of the Tundra is also equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which is the latest generation. On top of the regular driver assist features, it also adds intersection support, curve speed management and steering control.
