Discover the new TRD Sport version of the 2022 Toyota 4Runner starting at $41,000 at Toyota Spinelli! Launching at the end of the summer!
The new 2022 Toyota 4Runner doesn't make major changes from its 2021 edition, except for one thing: a new version, the TRD Sport, has been added to the line-up of the 2022 Toyota 4Runner. This Toyota SUV has been a resounding success since its launch in 1983, and the newest edition is better than ever with a long list of improvements.
A TRD Sport version of the 2022 Toyota 4Runner is coming soon
So why did the 2022 Toyota 4Runner get a new TRD Sport edition? According to Toyota Canada, the new 4Runner TRD Sport "adds style, flair and road-worthy upgrades". In other words, it boasts a sportier look and better performance. In fact, it is powered by a 4.0 L V6 engine that produces a whopping 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, it can tow up to 2273 kg (5000 lbs). That’s just what you need to transport heavy equipment between Laval and the South Shore!
Under the hood of the 2022 4Runner
The exteriors of the 2022 4Runner and its TRD Sport version are a thing of beauty. We loved the colour-keyed accents on the front grille and the air intake on the hood, the signature feature of all TRD versions from Toyota. A front spoiler, black roof rails and 20" wheels with Dark Grey accents complete the package. Also of note is the addition of the Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System (X-REAS). This system automatically adjusts the damping force of the shock absorbers when cornering or driving on a bumpy road.
The interior is streamlined and easily seats between 5 and 7 passengers. The seats are covered in black SofTex faux-leather with grey stitching, and the front seats are heated. While you are on the road, you and your passengers will be kept safe thanks to the Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P), a complete package of driver-assistance technologies. It includes automatic LED high beams, blind spot monitoring and many more features. To top it off, it also boasts an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration.
The TRD Sport trim of the 2022 Toyota 4Runner starts at $41,000. The starting price of the other trims (TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, SR5, Venture, Limited and Nightshade), is $38,000. Its release date has not been revealed yet, but we expect this new SUV to be available the end of the summer at your Toyota Spinelli dealer, in Lachine and Pointe-Claire, on the island of Montreal!
